The ‘Cool Connections’ women’s group recently held a ‘Pink Market Day’ to raise funds for cancer research and, much to their surprise, the social group was able to donate the incredible sum of $2247.50 to the Cancer Council – an impressive effort for a small gang.

Cool Connections has been running for 10 years now and the group is all about community, friendship and helping one another. Women from all walks of life come together to enjoy each other’s company, forge friendships and further their knowledge with a variety of mystery guest speakers or workshop facilitators every week.

The group was nominated in the category – Community Group of the Year at the 2014 Sunshine Coast Council Australia Day Awards for and Esme Robson, who founded the group, was a finalist in the Inspiring Women Awards in 2016.

Cool Connections are primarily a social group, fostering connectedness for women, but they do also host the occasional fundraising event, which are also fun and help others out. The non-profit organisation regularly donate to charity, with a particular focus on local charities such as those in the cancer research field, Smart Pups, Coolum Hearts, Orange Sky, Safe Houses Noosa Stroke Foundation, LifeFlight, the local Rural Fire Service, Mercy Ships, Care Outreach and many more.

The group meets at 9.15, for a 9.30 start on Friday mornings during school terms at the Yaroomba Meeting Place, which is located at 1443 David Low Way, Yaroomba, and new ladies are always guaranteed to receive a warm welcome.
