Coolum Beach Lions recently presented a generous donation of $2,000 to help Coolum Salvos make a real difference to local residents doing it tough at this critical time of the year.

During last year’s Christmas season, the Salvos provided nearly 4,000 gifts and toys to Queensland families who might otherwise have gone without.

“Christmas is always the busiest time of the year for The Salvos – but add a turbulent year with drastic increases to the cost of living, and we’re expecting even more individuals and families will need support so that no one is left in need and no child goes without a gift on Christmas Day,” Lieutenant Matthew Gluyas said.

Coolum Lions is putting out the call for more members to continue their vital community projects. There is no mandatory commitment, you can volunteer when it suits and there is a variety of interesting activities to take part in. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, and stay active while raising funds for local community projects.

If you have some time to spare, please contact Lion Doug Alford on 0413 019 078 for a chat about how you can help out the Coolum Beach Lions Club.
