In recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day which is held annually on September 10 a small team of Coolum Lifeline volunteers including store manager Lisa Nicoll decided to take part in the national 9km fundraising event. Suicide sadly has touched nearly everyone and creating awareness is one way to break down the barriers surrounding this topic. The local ladies started their walk at beautiful Point Arkwright where several plaques can be found on the railings, some of them placed in memory of people and together the group raised $1200 by way of generous support from family and friends. If you or someone you know is suffering or would like someone to talk to please call lifeline on 13 11 14.
