New BBQ for Yaroomba Park
HAVE you been to Birrahl Park lately? Some members from the community group ‘Friends of Yaroomba’ met over the weekend to check out the newest improvements to the little park which is located just off Goongilla Street, Yaroomba. Following on from the new playground cover that was installed several months ago there are now two brand new barbeques to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. By placing them under their own separate roof, Sunshine Coast Council has also increased the covered seating area within the park. Friends of Yaroomba committee members initially approached Division 8 Councillor Jason O’Pray mid last year to discuss much-needed upgrades to this frequently used park with Council coming to the BBQ party! The result of this initiative is an excellent example of Council working with locals to benefit the greater community.
