The second annual ‘Bay to Beach’ swim will be held this coming Sunday December 5 with all funds raised from the event going back into the local Coolum Surf Life Saving community to fund their valuable volunteer work and services.

Funds will directly go to helping Coolum Beach SLSC purchase much needed life saving equipment.

The ocean swim, which will start at 6am, will see participants take off from picturesque First Bay. From there, competitors will work their way around Point Perry to Coolum main Beach all whilst being watched over by a team of trained and experienced water safety volunteers.

The ocean swim which is just over one kilometre offers a great challenge for serious swimmers with various waves of competitive groups or a fun experience for those wanting a more cruising pace in the ‘Mates Race’ group.

This year the organisers have opened up the swim to young and old with competitors from 12 and up encouraged to participate.  Participants will be gifted an official Bay to Beach t-shirt and other goodies donated by the generous event sponsors at the end of the event. Plus competitors will also be able to cap the morning off with a refreshing beach breakfast.
