Celebrating women with pink patrol

IT WAS a day of firsts at Marcoola Surf Club on Saturday, March 14, with the club conducting their first-ever ‘Pink Patrol’ to coincide with Queensland Women’s Week, which runs from March 8-14, and the club also christened their new radio tower.

“While the weather gods weren’t quite on our side and we had to fly the red flag, that certainly didn’t dampen the spirit. There was a sea of pink across the club – from hats to cupcakes, and plenty of delicious pink lemonade being enjoyed,” a club spokesperson said.

“A huge thank you to Austraffic for supplying the pink caps and to everyone who came along and helped make our first Pink Patrol such a fun and memorable event.”

The ladies in pink also christened the new radio tower and cut the pink ribbon before starting patrol for the day.
