Start the new year off with a windfall for your local community group with a grant
APPLICATIONS are now open for Queensland’s largest one-off community grants program with the Gambling Community Benefit Fund offering grants up to 35,000 to support community organisations across Queensland.
The Gambling Community Benefit Fund grants program supports not-for-profit groups to deliver a range of projects , including renovating facilities, running local events and training sessions, installing solar systems and shade sails and upgrading equipment and vehicles, amongst many other items.
Local groups to have received funding via the grants in recent years include Bli Bli Tennis Club for the install of a lighting control system ($3,200), Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club INC who purchased a rescue boat and engine ($31,000), Coolum Beach Meals on Wheels who installed a new electric oven ($34, 445.50), Coolum Croquet Club who installed sun shades ($10,800) and Coolum State School Parents and Citizens Association who purchased wheelchairs and equipment ($33,472.0).
The Gambling Community Benefit Fund delivers more than $60 million for community initiatives each year and continues to grow in popularity, with the recent $100,000 Super Round setting a record for the number of applications.
Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Minister for Integrity Deb Frecklington said the strong support for the Gambling Community Benefit Fund showed the difference this program makes for local communities.
“No matter the size of the project or idea, I encourage all eligible not-for-profit groups to consider applying for a grant in Round 126 - because how good would it be to start off the year with a $35,000 boost for your local community initiative?”
“I’ve seen the impact this funding can have when I’ve visited some of the successful recipients from previous rounds, from the Far North to the South East, and I’m looking forward to sharing more of those grassroots community stories in 2026.”
Applications are now open and will close at midnight on 28 February 28, 2026. Successful applicants will be announced in July.
