Premiership winning Lions visit Coolum
The Brisbane Lions know where the best hospitality on the Sunshine Coast is, and the team made their way to the Coolum-Peregian RSL Sub Branch for dinner and a meet and greet on Wednesday, January 28 (main picture) and were proudly hosted by the Coolum Beach Breakers AFL Football Club. In what was a huge coup for the local region, the Lions were based on the Sunshine Coast for a training clinic and also facilitated many other local events, such as the Junior Footy Stars Festival on Tuesday, January 27, at Breakers Headquarters at Coolum High. The afternoon of footy fun saw star Lions Dayne Zorko and Will Ashcroft host a training clinic with their young fans.
Tuesday, January 27 saw the Junior Footy Festival travel to Coolum with Lions Dayne Zorko and Will Ashcroft host a training clinic and meet and greet. Hosted by Coolum Beach Breakers AFL Football Club, the clinic was an opportunity for the young AFL fans to literally learn from the best. The Brisbane Lions are the back-to-back reigning premiers, and young Lion Will Ashcroft was awarded the Norm Smith medal (best on ground) at the 2024 and 2025 AFL Grand Finals. This is the second time the Junior Footy Stars have held a clinic in Coolum, and it’s not likely to be the last.
