Community Update: ALP Ninderry Light on the Hill Dinner
THE NINDERRY Branch of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) was formed on April 2, 2016, after the creation of the State seat of Ninderry through a redistribution of Queensland electoral boundaries.
The Ninderry Branch has advocated for many large and small local issues since, and delivered exceptional candidates in a bid to represent the people of this quite diverse geographical area. Whilst we haven’t been successful yet, we won’t stop trying!
An ongoing focus for our Branch is transport and the need for better transport in our region, and the need for infrastructure spend. We delivered a commitment to resolve the Motorway, industrial estate access, active transport access east and west, and we are continually advocating for the duplication of our section of the Motorway, the flyover and four-way entrance and exit to and from Coolum. We continue to fight for this outcome; anything else is selling us all short.
Our Branch members are very active in our local community, and many of them have lived within the boundaries of our electorate for decades. Due to this long-standing local knowledge, we are very aware of the issues facing families, impacts on local businesses, housing shortfalls and the very real pressures from every direction on daily life within the seat of Ninderry.
We welcome new members and meeting anyone who would like to join us as we strive for better outcomes and representation in our electorate. We meet on the third Sunday of each month from 10.30 am at the Coolum Beach Sports Club (formerly known as the Coolum Bowls Club).
We also welcome members of the public to our tenth birthday, which will be held on Thursday, April 23, at Surfair Marcoola from 6.30 pm. Joining us on the night will be the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Hon Milton Dick MP. We hope you can join us for this special occasion and celebratory dinner.
