TEWANTIN Travel might be a new name to some; however, the people behind the business are familiar faces and bring to the world of holidays years of professional travel booking experience and know-how.

At the helm is Cathy Hewitt, who for five years owned both Coolum Cruise & Travel and Tewantin Travel, which were two stand-alone and independent local travel agencies that expertly helped people explore the world.

Like so many businesses within the travel industry, events over the past few years brought challenges that were hard to navigate, and no one could have foreseen.

“Sadly, the enormous impact of the pandemic meant we were forced to close the doors of Coolum Cruise & Travel,” Cathy said.

“However, Tewantin Travel continued and with it came many of the relationships, experience and personal services that had always been at the heart of both agencies.”

Today, Tewantin Travel remains proudly independent and locally owned with a wonderful team who share a genuine passion for travel and personal service.

“I’m also delighted that Genna Schuit, who many Coolum Cruise & Travel clients will remember from our Coolum office, continues to be part of the Tewantin Travel team,” Cathy said.

“For our former Coolum clients this means there are still familiar faces ready to help with your next holiday.”

At the cornerstone of Tewantin Travel is personalised service, which is face-to-face and with locals.

“We believe there is still something very special about being able to speak with a real person who takes the time to understand how you like to travel.”
