Extra workshops to be held for Boardwalk Mosaic Project
THE COOLUM Boardwalk Mosaic Project group are making great progress with their revamp of the art pieces which adorn the iconic walking platform in Coolum.
After many years, the current panels were showing signs of wear, and a new group of creatives who are working out of the Coolum HeARTs shed set about to design and construct new panels to replace the older ones.
The group has been meeting weekly, and the panels have been designed to reflect the local community and environment.
The group are also making a series of totem poles which will be displayed at various places in the community, and with the school holidays coming up, two extra workshops will be run.
The school holiday workshops will be held on Wednesday, July 1 and 8, from 11:30 am until 3 pm at the Coolum HeARTs Community shed (cnr Elizabeth St and Sunrise Ave – behind the Fire Station). There is no charge, and children under 12 are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult.
If you would like to join the main group, they meet every Thursday afternoon from 1-3 pm. Come along and be a part of making a lasting art piece for the wider community. No experience is required, just a love of being creative!
