SATURDAY, July 11 was officially World Skydiving Day, and this year the global skydiving community came together to set a new record with an impressive 31,075 skydives completed across 43 countries.

The previous record was 31,075 skydives in 2024.

Stumers Creek is a popular ‘drop zone’ for the local skydiving operators Skydive Australia (Noosa), and on World Skydiving Day they contributed to the overall tally with the USA, Canada and Australia the top participating countries on the day – accounting for 19,516 skydives.

World Skydiving Day is an annual global celebration held on the second Saturday in July, and it is all about encouraging both first-time tandem students and experienced jumpers to take to the skies.

The primary goal of the day is to unite the international community in a record-breaking attempt for the most reported skydives completed within a single day.
