Congratulations to the members of the Coolum SES for being awarded a Challenge Coin recently. The coin was presented on behalf of the QLD State Emergency Services by Chief Officer Mark Armstrong, and it recognises the diligent and professional work of the Coolum SES as well as their commitment to the community.

Chief Officer Armstrong highlighted the conduct of Coolum SES during the huge storms that lashed the region from November 24 last year.

The group managed to work together as a well-oiled team and successfully completed 87 requests for assistance across four days. This was a huge achievement considering there was also no power.
