Event Showcase: Coolum Carnival

coolum carnivalTHE BIGGEST event on the calendar is set to return on Friday, October 23, as the carnival rolls into town and Coolum State School holds its huge Coolum Carnival and invites the whole community into the school grounds.

The Coolum Carnival will run from 3.30-8 pm with exciting rides, entertainment and great food. There will also be some new and exciting additions such as Japanese drumming, the opportunity to drive a pedal kart, laser tag, a silent auction and the racing piglets will be back this year!

Vintage sideshow games will be on offer such as the ring toss, knock-ems and mini golf – all of which make the carnival fun for all ages. The animal nursery and pony rides will also be returning this year, and another new feature will be workshops on the oval and pickleball demos.

Principal Shannyn Taylor says it’s all for a great cause, with the school looking to use funds raised to build a nature playground, which will be a project that connects imagination, exploration and the natural environment and will leave a lasting legacy for years to come.

“Thank you to the many businesses that are pitching in on the night and those which are donating products, vouchers and prizes for our wonderful rolling raffle and silent auctions.

“We are thrilled that we have so many teachers, families, local businesses, community and sporting organisations who roll up their sleeves and help our school community. We couldn’t do it without you!”

The carnival will also have a cake stall (check out the award-winning cupcakes and decorated cakes), plants stall, second-hand treasures, lucky bottles, photo booth and infamous pluck-a-duck lucky draw tickets. Raffles will be rolling throughout the event, and a silent auction has some incredible items including an iPhone (donated by iMend Tech), an air conditioning unit (AC Store) and an accommodation package (RACV Noosa).

The Coolum Carnival will start at 3.30 pm and finish with fireworks at 8 pm. The event is an alcohol, smoke, vape and E bike free event. Car parking is on the junior oval – access via Barns Lane. More info: www.coolumss.eq.edu.au
