A NEW multi-million-dollar facility in the heart of Nambour is bringing a range of community support services under one roof, as families continue to feel the pinch of rising living costs.

The Everyday Foundation officially opened its new facility at 73-79 Currie Street on Thursday, September 10, with Member for Nicklin Marty Hunt cutting the ribbon alongside Queensland Treasurer David Janetzki and Foundation directors Jonathan and Chloe Gullo.

The new building is home to the Foundation’s low-cost food outlet, Emergency Relief program, Daily Bread meal-support kitchen and social-enterprise café.

Importantly, the food outlet and café are open to everyone, with every dollar spent going back into programs supporting people experiencing food and financial insecurity.

“The Everyday Foundation does an incredible job supporting local people and families who are doing it tough, particularly as cost-of-living pressures continue to bite,” Mr Hunt said.

Director Jonathan Gullo said the Foundation was excited for its next chapter and to see the impact the facility will have on the town and wider community.

“The Everyday Foundation has been serving this community for more than 20 years, and this building means we finally have the room to grow alongside the increasing need for food relief on the Sunshine Coast,” Mr Gullo said.

“We would like to thank the Crisafulli Government for their generous $1 million contribution to this project. It’s an investment that will support this community for decades to come.”

The Currie St facility brings together programs previously spread across separate sites, with the low-cost food outlet and Emergency Relief program relocating from Howard Street, and the Daily Bread meal-support kitchen moving from its off-site location at a local church.

The food outlet stocks low-cost groceries and everyday essentials, including meat, dairy, fresh produce, pantry staples, toiletries and cleaning products, with volunteers focused on creating a welcoming space for everyone. The food outlet is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 3 pm and Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm.
