It’s Show Time in Noosa Shire!

PUBLIC HOLIDAY THIS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11
RESIDENTS of Noosa Shire will have their annual show day public holiday this Friday, September 11, and the 2026 Noosa Country Show will take centre stage at the Pomona Showground, which is located at 26 Exhibition Street, Pomona.
The Noosa Country Show (NCS) will run from 8 am to 10 pm on both Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12 – with the two days showcasing iconic agricultural show favourites such as equestrian, wood crafts and chopping, dog shows, side show alley and prize-winning cakes and so much more.
Agricultural Shows hold a special place in Australia and have been a part of our culture since the first one was held in Hobart in 1822. Since then, they have shaped and connected communities across Australia – from the bush to the city!
Today, some 587 agricultural shows are held across Australia each year, including 127 in Queensland alone.
These shows are made possible via the hard work and dedication of more than 13,500 volunteers, and they attract more than 1.3 million visitors annually.
Noosa MP Sandy Bolton dropped by Pomona in the lead-up to the NCS and praised the local community and quaint Noosa hinterland town.
“From chatting with visitors and fellow Noosans in streetside cafes and to gorgeous historic buildings bursting with fresh produce and homemade goodies… Pomona is always seriously cool!” Ms Bolton said.
“Next Pomona stop is the Noosa Country Show this Friday, September 11! See you there!”
The Noosa Show Society has proudly run the NCS since its inception in 1909, and it was established as a way to bring the local community together and to showcase and champion rural life.
With the public holiday, residents are encouraged to attend the show with family and friends, and the weather is looking perfect.
Noosa Council on hand with freebies up for grabs
Noosa Council will once again be front and centre at the NCS, and their marquee will be packed with interactive displays, creative activities, practical support, giveaways and exciting prize opportunities.
The Disaster Management team will be on hand to help residents prepare for the upcoming storm season, with free Emergency Action Kits available while stocks last.
The Local Laws team will be available to discuss responsible pet ownership, dog registration and animal management. Residents who show the team their Noosa Council dog registration can also enter the draw to win a $200 Greencross Vets voucher.
And the first 20 families to visit the Council marquee each day will receive a Noosa Aquatic Centre family swim pass valued at $22.
Public Relations Officer Heather Williams said there would be plenty of reasons for families to stop by.
“The Council marquee is a chance to meet the people behind Council services, ask questions, pick up useful resources and enjoy some family-friendly activities while you’re at the Show,” Ms Williams said.
Visitors can also sign up to Council’s e-news and Your Say platform for the chance to win a 20-visit Noosa Leisure Centre Flex Pass valued at more than $300.
